Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs suffered a torn Achilles tendon in late April. It has been rumored that Suggs was injured while playing basketball, which would be a violation of his contract, however Suggs continues to assure fans that the injury was suffered while training for the upcoming season. Directly after the injury Suggs said he wouldn’t rule out starting the season, he later changed his return date to November. Now he is unsure when he will be able to return to the football field, but he is still optimistic that he will play in 2012. As of now November is the best case scenario for Suggs to return to the team.
“When we did the timetable, you kind of look at the month and I was like, ‘Oh, I could be back by then.’ But I’m not a doctor,” he said. “It feels good now, I guess. I will be in a Baltimore Ravens uniform in 2012. The only question is when.”
The Steelers and Ravens don’t play each other in the 2012 season until week 11 (November 18, 2012). They play again two weeks later in a week 13 match-up. If Suggs is able to return by early or mid-November he will be in the line-up for both games against the Steelers. When news of Suggs’ injury were made public it was first believed that Suggs would miss the entire 2012 season. Now he could very likely be chasing Ben Roethlisberger around for both Ravens/Steelers match-ups this season.
