Steelers Release Jonathan Scott

By on July 19, 2012

The Steelers have released veteran offensive tackle Jonathan Scott. His release comes as little surprise after the team resigned Max Starks earlier this week.

Scott started 14 games and 3 playoffs games in two seasons in Pittsburgh. After the Steelers drafted Mike Adams in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft Scott became a cut possibility. After Max Starks resigned Scott was the odd man out.

Scott was in my doghouse in 2011. Scott will be best known for his ability to watch pass rushers as they went after Ben Roethlisberger rather than block them. Max Starks took over for Scott when he returned to the team mid-season last year due to Scott’s inept play on the left side. This week marks the second time in less than a year that Starks replaced Scott in Pittsburgh.
